Primark opens one of its largest UK stores at Lakeside, Thurrock

Capital Shopping Centre’s Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock, has become home to Primark’s fourth largest UK store, after it opened its new extension on Friday.
The newly extended store, which will operate from 83,300 sq ft of net (101,613 sq ft gross) trading space, re-enforces Primark’s anchor position at Lakeside along with Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, House of Fraser and BHS. The retailer has increased the size of its departments at Lakeside so shoppers can enjoy the wide choice of clothing, accessories, footwear and homeware on offer.
The store opening follows 25 new lettings at the centre this year, including Guess, Fossil, Henleys and Cult among these.
Caroline Kirby, property director at Capital Shopping Centres said: “We are thrilled that Primark’s extended store will provide the Lakeside shopper with even wider choice. Lakeside has had a fabulous year and the centre is virtually fully let.”
