The Mander Centre, Wolverhampton, has sponsored a Donkey as part of its support for Penn Hall School which provides education and respite care for children with sensory and physical difficulties.
Nineteen year old Donkey Charlie who has visited the school from the Elizabeth Svensden Trust will be looked after by contributions from the Mander Centre on Penn Hall’s behalf.
The Centre has also pledged to raise funds towards a new outdoor area for the school.
Kevin Gwilliam, centre director for the Mander Centre, said: “It is a real honour to team up with Penn Hall and we look forward to raising lots of money for them in the future. We have pledged to raise lots of money for the school, but we are also going to be providing a series of treats for the students, and Charlie was the perfect starter for ten.”
Mr Parry continues; “We are familiar with the work of the Elizabeth Svensden Trust and the benefits that interacting and grooming the animals can have on children with disabilities. We are delighted to be involved with the Trust through the Mander Centre’s sponsorship. The children are very much looking forward to seeing Charlie again soon.”
