British Land plans £30m Fort Kinnaird extension

Published:  27 October, 2010

Plans have been unveiled for a £30m upgrade at Fort Kinnaird Retail Park at Craigmillar, in the south-east of Edinburgh

British Land, on behalf of the Hercules Unit Trust and the Crown Estate, has started consultation with existing tenants, the local community and the wider public on proposals for a scheme which will allow for the completion of the undeveloped land in the middle of the retail park.

The plans provide existing retailers at the park with additional mezzanine space to reinforce their retail offering while widening the food and restaurant offering available at Fort Kinnaird.

Following consultation with the local community, The Gibraltar Partnership, a joint venture between Hercules Unit Trust and the Crown Estate, hopes to be able to finalise its proposals and to submit a formal planning application early next year.
