St. Enoch secures largest UK Cult store

Published:  29 September, 2010

Leading young fashion retailer, Cult, is set to open its biggest UK store at St Enoch, Glasgow, in November.

Cult, which together with its sister brand Superdry forms part of SuperGroup Plc, is one of the fastest growing international retailers and wholesalers of youth clothing. Trading from 15,000 sq ft unit it will be SuperGroup’s largest to date.

The contemporary youth clothing and accessories store is also sure to stand out with an iconic double-height frontage facing out onto Argyle Street, part of the city’s fashionable ‘Style Mile’.

Richard Kingston, vice president of leasing Europe at Ivanhoe Cambridge, said: “We are particularly excited about Cult joining us in our 21st birthday year as it proves again St. Enoch’s special appeal to fashion brands after the opening of Pulp, Quicksilver, Xile and our new anchor H&M earlier this year. The significance of the largest store is also very special – proving both the centre and the city’s pull as an A-list retail destination.”

Julian Dunkerton, founder of Cult Clothing, added:  “We are delighted to be opening a major store at St. Enoch, part of Glasgow’s “Golden Z” of great shopping.  As any retailer knows, Glasgow is second only to London and has always been important to us as a very cool and fashionable place.  St. Enoch is a great addition to our growing portfolio and a lot of hard work and imagination have gone into its design and fitting out.  Judging by our positive experiences at Queen Street we’re quietly confident that the store will be well received.”

Ivanhoe Cambridge was represented by Cushman & Wakefield and Jones Lang LaSalle. SuperGroup was represented by Jones Lang LaSalle.
