Halton Lea on the market

Savills has been appointed to sell Halton Lea Shopping Centre in Runcorn on behalf of the recievers.

The shopping centre was put into receivership over a year ago after the existing owners were unable to meet the requirements of their mortgage, has continued to trade successfully. A number of new initiatives including the newly rebranded Market Walk area specifically for local traders have also been started.

The guide price for the investment is in the region of £27.8m.

Julian Clarke, one of the receivers, said: "Halton Lea Shopping Centre is an established retail centre with loyal customers which has been positively managed for the past year. A change of ownership will further drive the centre forward as it continues to be the premier retail destination in Runcorn providing the residents with a wide range of shopping opportunities."
