Three teams from thecentre:mk have travelled 3,000 miles in the Ramshackle Rally, raising over £12,000 for the Ark Charity in Milton Keynes
The team travelled to Valencia in Spain in British classic Minis arriving just in time for La Tomatina – a world famous tomato throwing festival.
Dan Murphy, head of operations at thecentre:mk, said: “It looks like this is habit forming, back in 2009 myself and Andy Rogers took part in a rally to Timbuktu raising over £13,000 for MK Young Carers. This time we’ve more than tripled the number of people involved and we thought we’d do it in style, emulating the classic film, ‘The Italian Job’ with red, white and blue Minis.
“We have all kinds of staff at thecentre:mk from office staff through to electricians so we have the in house skills to plan the journey, fix the cars up, and provide vital phone support if anyone gets lost.”
The Ark Charity strives to give young people a good start in adult life and has offered 24 hour a day, 7 day a week supportive accommodation to over 500 homeless and vulnerable people since it began in 1976.
