Jeff Banks CBE, renowned designer and chairperson of the Retail Leadership Group which aims to promote corporate and social responsibility in UK retail, has chosen to host the first ever People’s Catwalk Event at Manchester Trafford Centre.
The catwalk will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September and members of the public wishing to take part will purchase a tote bag for £10, with all proceeds going to The Prince’s Trust, and will be treated to free pampering, professional photographs and advice from Banks and other celebrity guest in return.
Jeff Banks said: “The People’s Catwalk is designed to appeal to anybody who has ever harbored a dream of walking down the catwalk looking a million dollars – and what better venue than The Trafford Centre, which leads the way in fashion retail for the region.
“When we created this fabulous event, we couldn’t think of a better city to hold it in than Manchester, one of the most style-conscious cities in the UK.”
Gordon McKinnon, director of operations at The Trafford Centre, added: “We are famous for our stunning catwalk shows here at The Trafford Centre – so when Jeff and his team approached us to hold this inaugural event we were delighted to be able to help”.
Manchester Trafford Centre has over 200 retailers, 60 restaurants and an average footfall of 30 million per year.
