Hermes Real Estate hires new chief executive

Hermes Fund Managers has appointed Chris Taylor as chief executive officer of Hermes Real Estate Investment Management, one of the largest real estate managers in the UK, with over £5.8bn of assets under management

Taylor joins Hermes from Australian-based global fund manager QIC where he was head of European property for the past four years. Prior to this, he spent a year at HSBC Specialist Investments as director – head of European property and has had an extensive career in property fund management at Prudential UK.

Rupert Clarke, CEO of Hermes Fund Managers, said: “I am delighted at Chris Taylor’s appointment – he has outstanding credentials as a property investor. The arrival of Chris together with key additions made to the team over the last year means that Hermes is now well placed to further develop its real estate business.”
