House of Fraser to refurbish Meadowhall flagship store
Published: 03 September, 2010
House of Fraser is to undertake a £5m refurbishment of its Meadowhall store, creating a regional flagship and introducing a significant number of new concessions
The refurbishment, the first since the store opened 20 years ago, includes opening up the front of the store on both the upper and lower levels. Works will be completed by the autumn and House of Fraser will continue to trade while the refurbishment is undertaken.
Claire Barber, senior asset manager at British Land, on behalf of the joint owners British Land and London & Stamford, said: “The creation of a regional flagship House of Fraser is the perfect gift for Meadowhall, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in September. The combination of a brand new store design, which will completely change the feel of the mall outside the store, and the introduction of a unique line-up of brands reinforces Meadowhall’s position as the region’s dominant mall.”
The news follows the recent opening of Phase Eight and the announcement that L.K. Bennett and L’Occitane are opening stores at Meadowhall.
Meadowhall’s agents are Smith Young Partnership and CBRE.
