The store is 4402 sq ft and is the latest opening as part of a growth strategy which will see 50 new Poundland stores open during the 2010/2011 financial year.

Store manager, Lyndsey MacTavish, said: “It was a fantastic day, everyone was having fun. It was a great way to welcome shoppers in Leith to Poundland.”

David Coxon, trading director at Poundland, said: “We are delighted to see that the shoppers of Leith welcomed us into the community. Poundland offers amazing value on many household and branded products and we hope that Leith customers will enjoy making us part of their weekly shop.”
