Clas Ohlson signs for two new stores in UK

Clas Ohlson is to open stores in Chapelfield Norwich and St David's in Cardiff

In Norwich, the Swedish homewares retailer has taken the lower level of the former Borders store, totalling 17,000 sq ft. Owner Capital Shopping Centres is also reported to be in negotiations with an occupier for the upper level, of the former bookstore. Clas Ohlson plans to open in December 2010.

The second new store will be located in the St David's shopping centre in Cardiff. The 17,650-sq ft store is also scheduled to open in December 2010. Clas Ohlson has already announced that another UK branch will open at Merry Hill in Dudley befor ethe end of 2010.

The company expects to be trading from 10 UK sites by the end of the 2010-11 financial year.
