Published:  27 August, 2010

Adventure Experience UK is to create its largest outdoors adventure golf facility in the UK at Bluewater, occupying a 161,400 sq ft area that includes one of Bluewater’s seven lakes

Pirate Cove features a 52,400 sq ft 36-hole adventure golf course planned around the shores of Bluewater’s Blue Lagoon. The course includes a castle, pirate ships and caves with waterfalls. The first 18 holes will be launched late summer, with the remaining 18 by the October half term. Pirate Cove Adventure Park also incorporates pedalo hire, remote control boats and Aerial Trek, a children’s adventure playground with a zip wire across the Blue Lagoon.

Andrew Parkinson, Bluewater’s General Manager, said: “Pirate Cove is Adventure Experience UK’s largest space nationwide, and is most exciting.  The team has created a unique leisure offer that highlights Bluewater’s natural setting and is the perfect complement to Bluewater’s retail and catering offer.

“In a world that is increasingly time pressured, Pirate Cove Adventure Park is a significant enhancement to Bluewater’s ‘day out’ experience, providing guests, in particular families, with additional reasons to visit and a new way to relax.”

Ed Haddon, Chairman of Adventure Experience UK, operators of Pirates Cove Adventure Park, added: “With its beautiful setting, well-established brand and loyal guests, Bluewater is the perfect location to launch the evolution of our adventure golf brand. Bluewater wanted something unique for its guests and I am confident that they will not be disappointed.”
