Connah’s Quay shopping centre in Ffordd Llanarth, north Wales, has signed five new retailers.

Developers St Modewn have announced that Morrisons, Greggs, Bargain Booze, Just Go Travel, Corbett Bookmakers and Barnardo’s are to open units at the shopping centre which will begin trading in time for Christmas.

As well as a 52,000 sq ft Morrisons outlet, the centre will have 12 shops and 325 car parking spaces with a £20,000 sculpture of a Welsh dragon called Spirit of the Quay taking pride of place.

The latest retailers will join an MOT Testing Centre, Deeside Fish and Chip Shop and discount chain Home Bargains.

Four units are still to be filled, with sandwich chain Subway thought to be interested in a move to the centre.

The construction of the complex is expected to be completed early next month.
