The Mall, Norwich, offers ‘fish pedicure’ with the opening of Dr Spa Fish
Published: 19 August, 2010
Customers at The Mall, Norwich, can now treat themselves to a unique experience, which involves live fish nibbling away dead skin from the feet, at the newly opened Dr Spa Fish.
Garra Rufa or ‘Doctor Fish’ work through the build up of hard skin on the heels and soles of the feet getting rid of any dry skin, but leaving the healthy flesh untouched.
Alan Day, general manager at The Mall, Norwich, said: “It’s something completely different and unique. I’ve had it done myself and it’s interesting and relaxing having a hundred fish nibble away at your feet. It’s been very busy since it opened at the beginning of the week.”
Bradley Carter, managing director of Dr Spa Fish added: “We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to share our unique pedicure experience with the people of Norwich through our new outlet in The Mall.
“The ‘natural pedicure’ gets rid of hard or flaky skin on the feet; effectively assists with treating psoriasis and eczema; improves blood circulation in the feet and also relaxes the body to reduce fatigue.”
The foot treatment is seen as an alternative to pumice stones and foot scrubs, leaving feet feeling soft and smooth, and has long been popular in countries such as Turkey, China and Japan.
A 15 minute session costs £10.
