Union Square welcomes Pulp

Music-inspired fashion retailer, Pulp, is set to open a 2,000 sq ft store at Aberdeen’s Union Square shopping centre as part of its expansion programme.
The store, which will be Pulp’s eighth UK branch and second in Scotland, will open on August 21.
Pulp’s co-owner, Ian Hopkins, said: “We have specifically chosen to locate in shopping centres as this allows our stores to remain edgy, whilst also appealing to a more mainstream customer.
“The new Aberdeen store will be our first Scottish store outside of Glasgow’s St. Enoch Centre and will be an exciting addition to the Pulp chain. The new outlet will build upon the success we have achieved so far and is part of our overall aim to further expand the brand. Ultimately, we think there’s a market for 50 stores in the UK and possibly Europe.
“Some good retailers came out of the last recession and judging by our success to date, we think Pulp has shown that we have what it takes to keep growing and moving the business forward.”
The retailer, which launched in the same week as the stock market crash of 2008, sells a wide range of band T-shirts, accessories and gifts for both male and female consumers between the ages of 14 and 29.
