Tuk tuks stop at One Stop

Published:  22 July, 2010

Customers at Birmingham’s One Stop Shopping Centre were able to take the weight off their feet at the end of June when the landlord laid on a fleet of  three–wheeled tuk tuks to celebrate the start of improvement works .

The tuk tuks – popular across Asia as a cheap and accessible form of public transport – ferried shoppers from the stores to the car park to mark the start of a £500,000 improvement programme.

One Stop manager Bashir Dalvi said: “The tuk tuks were great fun, environmentally friendly and our customers really seemed to enjoy them. We’re really excited about the redevelopments at the centre and wanted to launch it by providing some fun for our shoppers.”
