Greggs targets north west for expansion

Greggs the Bakers has secured a dozen properties across the North West as part of a major acquisition programme that will see it open 90 shops nationwide in 2010.

So far this year Greggs has acquired shops in Mold, Southport, Glossop, Llandudno, Manchester University, St Annes and Altrincham, with terms agreed on others in Kensington, Rhyl, Prestwich, Manchester and Manchester city centre. Mason Owen, retained agent for the region, is also currently in negotiation on a further 10 properties.
