Monsoon kicks off new phase at Sanderson Arcade

Published:  13 July, 2010

Monsoon is opening a new store in the second phase of Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade development

The first phase of the £32m development, anchored by Marks & Spencer, opened in November 2009. That phase is now fully let and work started earlier this year on delivering three further retail units in the North East market town.

Now Monsoon has signed a ten year lease for a 2120-sq ft unit. The new store will trade alongside other major high street retailers including Marks and Spencer, East, Laura Ashley.

This new phase will be completed in the Autumn ready for opening as the centre nears its first birthday. The two further outlets cover 3,315 sq ft and 1,700 sq ft.

Andrew Malley, retail property director at developer  Dransfield Properties said: “Monsoon and Accessorize are great brands and we are confident they will do well here at Sanderson Arcade. It’s a great start to the line up of this next phase at Sanderson Arcade and we are already talking to a number of other companies keen to be here in Morpeth.”

Agents for Monsoon were Williams Gunter Hardwick.
