Lend Lease has reported a surge in lettings across its UK portfolio
Lend Lease’s UK flagship, Bluewater, has welcomed two new retailers. Fashion brand All Saints is set to open an 8,060-sq ft flagship store on the lower Thames Walk, next to House of Fraser. And Best Seller has recently launched its Vera Moda/Jack Jones flagship store in a 5,000 sq ft-unit on the upper Rose Gallery in the Kent mega-mall.
Toy retailer The Entertainer is to become the latest brand to join Lend Lease’s Golden Square shopping centre in Warrington having taken a 10-year lease on a 2,750 sq ft unit. The Entertainer will join a diverse line up at Golden Square, and follows a flurry of recent signings including Pandora, Virgin Media, Card Factory, Infinities, Ann Summers and ASK.
At Touchood in Solihull luxury travel agent Kuoni has agreed to take a 2,300-sq ft two-level unit while at Overgate in Dundee Country Casuals and Baguette Express have both taken units totalling over 2,500 sq ft.
And at The Meadows in Chelmsford the newest retailer is Naked Flames Candles, which specialises in candles and accessories, after signing up for a 1,300-sq ft unit.
Guy Thomas, head of leasing at Lend Lease said: “Although the retail industry is still in recovery, we see these lettings as a positive sign that the market is now moving forward in the right direction. We have noticed a marked increase in the number of enquiries from retailers and we’re continuing to engage in a number of discussions.”
CBRE, DTZ, SGM, Jones Lang LaSalle and Tushingham Moore advised lend Lease. CWM acted for All Saints, Harper Dennis Hobbs for Best Seller, Direct for Naked Flame, Cushman & Wakefield for Kuoni, Culverwell for Baguette Express and Reid Rose for The Entertainer.
