Alex Watt stands down at Standard Life

Standard Life Investments has appointed David Paine as head of property investments follows the decision by Alex Watt, managing director of property investments, to take early retirement in November 2010.

Watt and Paine both joined Standard Life’s property team in 1982 and Watt has been running the property department for the last 22 years.

Keith Skeoch, CEO of Standard Life Investments, said: “While we will be very sorry to see Alex go I am delighted that we have been able to appoint David to head up our Property business. David has been with the company since 1982 and has over 28 years experience in the property investments industry. As part of Alex’s senior leadership team he has played a significant role in the development of Standard Life Investments global property portfolio.

“I am confident that David has all the skills knowledge and experience required to drive the business forward and extend our global property franchise," Skeoch said.
