Receivers appointed at Stretford Mall

Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed as receivers of the 340,000-sq ft Stretford Mall in Manchester

Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed as receiver at the Stretford Mall, while discussions continue regarding the future ownership of the mall. The agent insists there will be no effect on the day to day trading of the centre, which remains open for shopping and is fully operational.

Jemma McAndrew, director and one of the appointed receivers at Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “It is very much business as usual at Stretford Mall which continues to draw in the shoppers and trade as normal. Indeed, since the new management team has been appointed we have received interest from several new retailers looking to take space in the centre, which we are actively pursuing. A number of strategic options are currently being reviewed, to ensure that value to the Mall and the community can be added. It is in all parties’ interests to ensure that the Mall is actively managed so that the asset continues to improve moving forward. No sale has been agreed or is being considered to date.

“Stretford Mall is a key part of the community in this area of south Manchester. The receivers are looking to work in partnership with the council to find a solution that best suits both Stretford Mall and the needs of its local community.”
