Uniqlo chooses Bluewater for first store outside London

Published:  04 June, 2010

Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo has exchanged contracts on a new 12,700-sq ft flagship store at Bluewater.

The store is Uniqlo’s first outside central London, and is situated on Bluewater’s Upper Thames Walk. Due to open in autumn 2010, the store is adjacent to the 25,000-sq ft H&M that opened in October 2009, Superdry and the recently announced 8,000-sq ft All Saints store.

The store is also near the site of the Bluewater Events Venue, the 55,000-sq ft purpose-built events and exhibition space that is currently under construction.

Guy Thomas, head of leasing at Lend Lease, said: “Uniqlo is a fantastic addition to Bluewater. The store completes a key asset management initiative in which a number of flagship units have been created in anticipation of the opening of the Bluewater Events Venue in late 2011.”

CBRE and DTZ represented Bluewater. Uniqlo was advised by Harper Dennis Hobbs.
