Landsecs' Salway joins board at Next

Published:  28 May, 2010

Fashion retailer Next has appointed Land Securities chief executive Francis Salway as a non-executive director.

As well as acting as chief executive at Land Securities Group Salway is immediate past president of the British Property Federation.

The appointment underlines the growing cross-fertilisation between property and retail businesses. Marks & Spencer chairman Sir Stuart Rose has a non-exec seat on Land Securities' board, while Next's own property director Andrew Varley is a non-exec at Metric Property Investments.

And Malcolm Dalgleish, head of retail for the EMEA region of CBRE, is on the board of Sports Direct.com
