Published:  25 May, 2010

Henderson Global Investors’ £1bn Retail Warehouse Fund has completed seven lettings across its portfolio.

The new lettings, which total over 71,000 sq ft, include the addition of a 30,000-sq ft Matalan at Riverside Retail Park, Norwich. The remaining leases were agreed with a mix of high street retailers and restaurant providers on leases ranging between 10 and 20 years.

Boots has signed at the Blackwater shopping park in Farnborough, Poundstretcher at the Chilwell Retail Park in Nottingham, Home Sense at Parc Fforestfach in Swansea and Vets for Pets at the Island Green retail park in Wrexham. And on the foodservice front Nandos is to joing the tenant line-up at Manchester Fort while Costa Coffee has signed at The Brewery in Romford.

Michael Neal, manager of the Retail Warehouse Fund at Henderson Global Investors said: "Having recently reported stronger than expected figures, retailers are showing increased optimism in their outlook and we have seen a significant improvement in the tenant market since the beginning of the year. Our portfolio of prime, well located retail parks is benefitting from this shift in sentiment and we expect to see other retailers follow suit over the course of the year.”
