King Sturge celebrates anniversary with a year of charity

Published:  12 May, 2010

To mark the 250th anniversary of the origin of King Sturge, the company launched a year-long fundraising appeal in support of several charities across Europe.

The 1760 Charity Appeal – 1760 being the year John Player founded a business that was the precursor of King Sturge – is hoped to enhance the international property consultants’ engagement with the property industry as a whole, as well as staff throughout all European offices.

According to King Sturge, the focus for the year is to be on the future rather than the past. “We are not going to simply look inwards to what has happened to the firm in the last 250 years but outwards to what is going on around us and what may happen in the future. 2010 therefore provides us with a real opportunity to help others in society who are less fortunate than ourselves and, by raising money for research into disease, to help others in the future.”

The target is to raise at least £250,000 for charities chosen by King Sturge employees across Europe, including The Children’s Trust and male cancer charity Orchid in the UK.
