Republic is to open a new store at St David’s, Cardiff. The fashion chain’s trading success from its existing St David’s shop, has led to it upsizing into a new double-fronted 12,500-sq ft store.

The new Republic shop will sit alongside H&M on the upper level and opposite New Look.    Shopper visits to the expanded St David’s have grown by 70% year on year and more than 20 million people have visited since its October 2009 opening

Joanne Skilton, of Capital Shopping Centres, on behalf of St David’s Partnership, the joint venture between CSC and Land Securities, said: “Republic and other great names including Karen Millen, Guess, Jane Norman and the recently opened Hollister have ensured that St David’s has become Wales’ prime fashion destination; there are still more exciting names to be announced. Our visitor numbers have been truly amazing and the feedback from our retail partners is excellent.”
