Womenswear retailer East has taken the final unit at Dransfield’s Sanderson Arcade development in Morpeth as work is about to begin on the next phase.

East, which has more than 60 stores nationwide is taking the final unit of 1,754 sq ft along the Arcade’s Edwardian style gallery, alongside Fat Face and Clarks.

Suzi Spink, chief operating officer at East, said: “Sanderson Arcade was an obvious choice for EAST when considering which towns to target as part of our 2010 expansion plan. We had been impressed with the plans for the development from when we first saw them.”

Work is due to start in May on the next phase of the Sanderson Arcade development which will create a further 6,470 sq ft of retail space.
