New direction for Crossways centre in Paignton

Published:  15 April, 2010

Gaelic Investments has unveiled plans to revitalise the troubled Crossways shopping centre in Paignton, Devon.

After almost a year in the hands of the receivers, following the collapse of previous owner Palduru, the mall was acquisred by Gaelic Investments late in 2009. Now, the new owner has unveiled plans to revitalise the centre beginning with the car park and the interior, and has appointed GVA Grimley and Waycotts as joint letting agents.

The 1960s-built shopping centre includes 27 retail units, a 1,669-sq ft night club and a 136 space multi storey car park. The centre, which is anchored by Somerfield and includes national multiples Holland & Barrett, C&J Clark, as well as local traders, is situated between Torquay Road and Hyde Road

Chris Wright, retail director at GVA Grimley, said “With new owners in place who want to maximise their investment, Crossways has a strong future ahead.”
