Grosvenor hires Craig McWilliam as John Irvine retires

Grosvenor has recruited Craig McWilliam as its new executive director in charge of development activity outside its core London estates.

McWilliam will join Grosvenor on 4 May to succeed John Irvine who is retiring after more than 20 years with the company. He joins from Fortress Investment Group where he was involved in all aspects of the business including investor relations and capital raising, deal analysis, acquisition and disposals of assets and companies, ongoing asset management and leadership of the UK team. He was also responsible for Mapeley and Eurocastle Investments, two property investment companies controlled by Fortress.

McWilliam started his career at Chesterton after graduating in Land Economy from Cambridge University He also worked at Warburg Dillon Read (now UBS Investment Bank), providing direct property input to the advisory group, and the European real estate company Rodamco.

Grosvenor’s development business outside the London estate is focused on building a portfolio of medium sized, mixed-use/retail and residential schemes in London, the South-East and other affluent locations around the UK.
