CB Richard Ellis has appointed Experian’s Jonathan De Mello to head up its UK retail consultancy team.
De Mello joins CB Richard Ellis as head of retail consultancy in April and is one of several key hires to be made by the retail team in the last six months. He is widely acknowledged as one of the leading UK retail analysts and was instrumental in building Experian’s retail consultancy offer in the UK and EMEA.
De Mello has been working as a specialist consultant in the retail property sector for over ten years, and his clients have included Blackstone, CSC, Henderson Global Investors, Land Securities, Lend Lease, UBS and Westfield. He has also worked with leading retailers including Nike, Gap and Superquinn and, on some of Europe's most high profile shopping centre developments, including Bluewater, Centro Oberhausen and Amsterdam’s Zuidas.
Ciaran Bird, CBRE’s head of UK retail, said: “Jonathan’s appointment is an important addition to the UK retail team and he will enhance and extend our retail capabilities in an area which is key to our clients.”
