New restaurant development is fully let at thecentre:mk
Published:  01 March, 2010

thecentre:mk, Milton Keynes' regional shopping centre, has topped off a string of prominant signings by filling its new restaurant quarter: Destination Dining.

Following lettings to Café Rouge and Nandos in autumn last year, both Carluccios and Yo Sushi! have taken the remaining 9,000 sq ft in thecentre:mk’s new restaurant development. Both brands took 4,500 sq ft each on 25-year leases. The restaurants are to open this summer.

Alongside new food offerings, thecentre:mk has welcomed several prominant fashion retailers to its Premium Quarter, including Kurt Geiger, Jones the Bootmaker, Phase 8 and Jaeger.

Centre director, Robert Goodman, is excited to see the new brands complement each other when Destination Dining opens later this year. “We are really pleased that all four restaurants are signed up and will be in a position to open when the development finishes in the summer. The attractions of alfresco dining and the later opening of the shopping centre should help to keep trade strong throughout the summer.

"Although market conditions remain tough, the success in pre-letting the restaurant quarter development to sought after brands and the strong retail lettings across the centre over the last six months demonstrate the encouraging levels of interest the centre continues to enjoy. This sustained interest from the market plays an important part in enabling us to improve the tenant mix at the centre."
