London & Stamford Property has secured Best Buy - the US consumer electronics giant which plans to enter the UK in a joint venture with Carphone Warehouse - as a new tenant at its Racecourse retail park in Aintree near Liverpool.
Best Buy plans to enter the UK market this spring, and it has already secured sites on the Junction retail park near Lakeside in Thurrock; in the former MFI unit on Merry Hill retail park in Dudley and at Prupim’s Hedge End retail park in Southampton. In all 20 openings are planned for 2010.
London & Stamford acquired the Racecourse retail park, Aintree in June 2009 from a subsidiary of Land Securities for £60.928m. It has a strong tenant mix which includes B&Q, Marks & Spencer, Next and Boots. Cushman & Wakefield and Savills are joint letting agents.
