Food operator Nandos has chosen the recently extended St Enoch Centre to open its first Glasgow-based restaurant. Fashion retailer Xile and designer jeweller Ortak are also taking units at the 765,000-sq ft scheme.
For its debut in the city, Nandos is investing heavily in a 1,840-sq ft unit with double height frontage, outdoor seating and mezzanine level. The 90-seat restaurant, opening out onto St Enoch Square, will open in March.
Adding to the 115 tenant line-up, independent Scottish retailer Xile will occupy a ground floor unit in the 250,000-sq ft extension. The operator now has 11 stores across Scotland, and will open its 2,340-sq ft unit at St Enoch in the spring.
Ortak, the designer jewellery chain, will open a 1,280-sq ft outlet in March. Retail director Yvonne Carr said: “Our decision to open at St Enoch’s was based on its great location, the design layout and the high calibre of retailers that it is attracting. Glasgow is one of the UK's top shopping destinations and the new-look St Enoch development will enhance the city centre's retail offering even further.”
