The parking permit scheme is available to the resort’s hotel guests, annual permit holders and staff. Users place the Torbay Car Park Access Card against the contactless card reader on the entry and exit terminals to raise the barriers. This centrally managed Parkeon Varioflex system replaces pay and display machines and padlocked barriers, for which hotel guests were previously issued a key.
“Varioflex will help the council to improve profitability by generating a range of financial and statistical data that will enable it to identify usage trends and patterns,” explained Richard Brown, the council’s parking operations officer.
