A 'Moving Catwalk' at Lion Yard shopping centre

Published:  02 October, 2009

Lion Yard Shopping Centre held a fashion show on its brand new escalators to celebrate a record deal between Aberdeen Property Investors and fashion chain New Look.

The ‘Moving Catwalk’ Fashion Show began after centre manager Laurie Cripps handed the keys to Claire Bayford, deputy manger of the New Look store. The show featured autumn and winter ranges from retailers such as New Look and Accessorize, and shoppers were offered canapés to nibble on as they watched models glide down the escalators.

The newly leased New Look store and the escalators form key a part of the Lion Yard Expansion Project. New Look have now started fitting out the new 23,000-sq ft store in time for its December 2009 opening. It will stock the full fashion range for women, men, children and teens as well as specialist ranges. The existing store near the centre’s entrance will be vacated once the new shop has opened.
