ING’s County Square Shopping Centre in Ashford, Kent, has raised £1,000 through a series of fundraising events. All money raised will go to Demelza House Children’s Hospice in Kent, which provides residential care for sick children.
County Square’s shoppers had the opportunity to get their Christmas presents wrapped by gorgeous Santa’s Little Helpers. Shoppers were provided with free gift wrapping on the weekend before Christmas, but asked to make a donation to Demelza House.
In addition to this, County Square’s shoppers made donations by either giving money or leaving a present in the centre’s Christmas Giving Tree post box.
And management and security at County Square donated 10 pence for every cup of tea and coffee they drank throughout the year. The thirsty team raised a staggering £589.
“It’s always really nice to see how generous the people of Ashford are,” said Frances Burt, commercial manager at County Square. “We are very pleased with the response and would like to thank everybody, staff and shoppers alike, who contributed.”
The centre is already gearing up for its next event, when shoppers can win a Valentine’s Day balloon flight.
