Countdown to Sceptre
Published: 07 January, 2009
The SCEPTRE Awards 2009 are launched again this month. And the countdown has begun for the fantastic awards dinner on June 24, 2009
The SCEPTRE Awards, rewarding the best practice and the best people in the UK’s shopping centre industry, are back – and this year they’re going to be bigger and better than ever.
The Awards represent the premiere accolade in the industry and in 2009 they are entering their ninth successful year. The superb ballroom at the Dorchester in London’s Park Lane will see awards presented in 15 categories on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
As in 2008, the Centre Manager of the Year awards will be divided into three specific size bands: small (up to 200,000 sq ft), medium (200,001 to 450,000 sq ft) and large (over 450,001 sq ft).
Reflecting the growth of the SCEPTRE Awards event, two new categories have been introduced for 2009. Catering Operator of the Year reflects the
growing importance of the food offer to shopping centres. And the Letting Agent of the Year Award will recognise those doing sterling work in a very difficult leasing climate.
Entry/nomination forms will soon be mailed to readers. Or alternatively you can enter online, or download your entry forms at www.sceptreawards.co.uk
The final date for entries will be in April 2009, but it’s never too early to start preparing your entries and nominations, and think about who to vote for in the Retailer of the Year category.
Bookings are already being taken for the big night. Table of 10 are available at £1,650 plus VAT, while individual tickets are £170 plus VAT.
And this year for the first time, the SCEPTRE Awards are proud to support Wooden Spoon. Currently celebrating its silver jubilee, Wooden Spoon is rugby’s charity. It has a network of regional committees around the country supporting mentally, physically and socially disadvantaged children and young people, with a strong emphasis on local initiatives.
