Keeping on top of cleanliness is a pressing matter for any shopping centre. Manchester’s Wythenshawe Shopping Centre is giving hygiene a helping hand with the multi-functional cleaning capacity of Nilfisk’s RS 501 road sweeper, which is keeping outdoor areas clean and tidy. A trained team from Morecambe-based AM Support Services is using the RS 501 to clear leaves and litter from pedestrian walkways and parking areas, and to wash stairwells in the centre’s multi-storey car park with the machine’s high pressure wash kit.

With its 34hp diesel engine, high suction performance and strong airflow, Nilfisk’s RS 501 is the most powerful road sweeper in its class, and the only machine of its type with a large suction nozzle, specially designed to prevent debris coming into contact with the fan, for increased reliability and performance.

However not every centre needs such a large machine, and for smaller requirements the Nimbus range of battery powered sweepers from JohnsonDiversey combine superb cleaning results with performance, efficiency and ease of use. Three models provide users with a choice of pedestrian or ride-on operation to meet indoor or outdoor sweeping requirements. All Nimbus machines incorporate twin contra-rotating brushes to collect debris and direct it into the waste bin while creating a vacuum that collects dust.

The Nimbus 900 is a lightweight and compact pedestrian operated sweeper that is ideal for carpets and hard floors where it can collect all kinds of debris including drink bottles and cans.

All operations are managed from the seat for comfortable and ergonomic working.
