Parkex is nearly with us again, and it’s time for operators and managers to start gearing up for Europe’s largest parking exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham
From Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 April 2009, the parking community will be making its way to Parkex 2009, Europe’s largest dedicated parking exhibition, organised in association with the British Parking Association. Held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, the three-day event, which attracts all members of the parking community, from both the public and private sector, will bring together over 120 companies from the UK, Europe and further afield.
Visitors to the event will have access to free of charge topical seminars being held at the Parkex Seminar Theatre, organised by the British Parking Association. This year’s seminars will explore the image of parking and how the industry can work towards enhancing it. Covering both on and off-street issues, key industry experts will present on a range of topics highlighting areas in which the industry can develop professionalism and how we can improve public perception of parking and traffic management.
And the trade show will feature a host of new products to improve the parking environment.
For example national parking pioneer StopAd is launching a new market-leading advertising service which will see StopAd signs in car parks throughout the UK.
StopAd signs are placed at the front of car parking bays to attract the attention of drivers who will focus on StopAd signs as they manoeuvre while parking.
StopAd’s signs are placed in car parks to aid drivers in parking by preventing bumps against low walls, bollards and kerbs.
And as well as aiding safety the signs are a money-spinner for advertisers: in order to park effectively drivers are required to concentrate on StopAd signs therefore ensuring that advertisements have a hard-hitting impact.
StopAd signs are designed to increase revenue at a competitive cost by creating for the first time an advertising service that successfully creates and builds a ‘one to one’ relationship with the consumer and the brands and services being advertised.
Lucy Edwards, managing director of StopAd, says: “It’s a brand new and innovative way forward for advertisers and brand managers to reach out to their target audience and achieve desired and exciting results.
“The new advertising tool not only works and offers a brand new advertising service for the advertising industry, it also acts as a vital driving aid in car parks by assisting drivers in parking in a bid to prevent bumps against low walls, bollards, kerbs or other vehicles.
Parkex will be co-located with Traffex; the world’s largest international traffic engineering, ITS (intelligent transport systems), the international road safety and highway maintenance exhibition, now in its 24th year and Street Design; a visionary new event focused on conserving and enhancing the urban built environment.
Thousands of visitors have already registered to attend the combined Parkex, Traffex and Street Design event. For more information on the events and to pre-register for a free visitor badge visit the dedicated website
