Construction begins on Newbury's Parkway scheme

Construction proper is now under way on Parkway, Standard Life Investments’ new 475,000-sq ft regeneration scheme in Newbury. Enabling works started in the Autumn 2008 and the scheme is due to open in the Autumn 2010
Parkway will be anchored by a 77,508-sq ft full-range Debenhams department store. There will also be three large stores of up to 25,000 sq ft and more than 50 shops and kiosks. The project also incorporates new restaurants and cafés, a 779-space underground car park and 184 new apartments, including affordable homes.
Shearer Property Group is development manager for the Parkway scheme. Letting agents are Strutt & Parker and Jones Lang LaSalle.
