Centros has signed two more retailers at its arc development in Bury St Edmunds, the only completely new shopping centre to be opening in England during 2009. Fashion chain Hobbs has taken a 5,416-sq ft unit, while crystal glass store Swarovski has taken 1,062 sq ft.
Fat Face, which signed up last year, has also changed its unit to take additional trading space. Four other lettings are in solicitors’ hands and Centros says it is in advanced negotiations with several other retailers.
The mixed-use scheme will open in March with 265,000 sq ft of retail space anchored by a Debenhams store. David Lewis, associate director at Centros, said: “This is great news. Both Hobbs and Swarovski complement our strong retail line-up, with Hobbs in particular fulfilling local demand for upmarket fashion in this prosperous market town. We expect to confirm other lettings in the next few weeks and will be working closely with the retailers to get them ready to open as soon as possible.”
Centros’s retail letting agents are Jones Lang LaSalle, Knight Frank and Mason & Partners.
