The lords of the dance

Published:  04 December, 2008

There was dancing in the aisles at the East Kilbride shopping centre when a host of top dance stars kept shoppers of all ages enthralled during October.

'Britain's Got Talent' finalists Nemesis, Strike and Signature visited Scotland's largest undercover shopping centre last month and joined local dance and sports groups, who invited youngsters to try out new skills during a series of free interactive workshops.

And as the dancers danced, the the music played and the shoppers looked on and enjoyed the fun, a record of a different kind was being broken at East Kilbride - the highest number of visitors to the centre, outside Christmas, since records began.

Throughout the aptly titled 'Funky Feet Week', over 340,000 people visited East Kilbride, which represents an astonishing 33,000 more that the same period last year.
