In the world we trust

Budding young environmentalists from schools in 20 major towns and cities across the UK are set to receive valuable lessons in going green and how to help save the planet's rainforests. This is thanks to a new resource pack for schools, launched in October by EnviroMall, a partnership between the UK's leading owner and operator of town centre community shopping centres - The Mall - and a group of environmental experts.
The new schools' resource has been created by EnviroMall in conjunction with the international conservation charity, The World Land Trust, whose patron is Sir David Attenborough. The pack has been specially designed to link with the National Curriculum in the areas of science and geography and will be distributed on CD-ROMs to schools in the vicinity of The Mall's 20 shopping centres across the UK.
Schools not located near one of The Mall's centres will still be able to access the pack by downloading it, free of charge, from The Mall's website.
The pack consists of PowerPoint presentations, exercise sheets for interactive whiteboards, case studies and information about the world's rainforests, providing pupils with a full project pack to bring their studies to life in an exciting, fun and creative way. It is the latest part of EnviroMall's national awareness-raising campaign to engage shoppers of all ages in environmentally friendly measures that can be easily incorporated into daily life.
Ken Ford, CEO of The Mall, said: "The schools' pack has been designed to engage children in a fun, creative way and emphasises that when it comes to preserving our environment, small steps can make a big difference."
