WORKMAN RETAIL has appointed MELANIE BRUNSDON as marketing and administration assistant at The Market Centre, Crewe.

PAUL IDZIK has been appointed group chief executive at DTZ, Until May this year he was chief operating officer at Barclays Bank. He is to take over from Mark Struckett, who has been DTZ's chief executive since 1994.

CB RICHARD ELLIS has recruited JAMES GULLIFORD as national head of out-of-town retail investment within its retail capital markets team. He moves to CB Richard Ellis from Savills, where he was head of the out-of-town retail team.

SAVILLS has recruited ANDREW BIRTWISTLE as a director in its out of town retail team. He joins from Kier, and has previously worked for Sainsburys, Lidl, Safeway and Aldi.

DAVINA TANNER has been appointed as CAPITAL SHOPPING CENTRES' new general manager at Chapelfield in Norwich. She joins from Arcadia Group where she was area manager for the South and East Anglia, overseeing 35 stores across the region. She will be supported by marketing manger SHERIDAN SMITH, who has returned to Chapelfield following a year's secondment at Lakeside.

LASALLE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT has appointed CARLEY TAYLOR-NEILSON as deputy centre manager at High Chelmer shopping centre in Chelmsford.

Car park refurbishment specialist STIRLING LLOYD has appointed DR FRANK SWALLOW as its new technical director.

HERMES has appointed DAVID PLUMB as general manager of The Brunswick in Bloomsbury. He joins from Westwood Cross, a 450,000 sq ft leisure and shopping centre near Broadstairs in Kent.

LLYR EMANUEL, head of the retail department at LEGAT OWEN has been promoted to director.

After acquiring 400 shops in five years at Betfred, SEAN RILEY has joined POUNDLAND as acquisition surveyor. Poundland aims to acquire 100 extra stores in the next three years.
