At the impressive age of 94, you would expect Saul Magrill to be long retired. But the great grandfather loves his job so much that he has no plans to leave.
Saul, of Cyncoed, Cardiff, has clocked up an impressive 77 years of work throughout his life, including a spell as director of the department store chain Macowards.
He then went on to form his own property development company, Wales and Western Properties, which was part of the consortium that developed the original St David's shopping centre in Cardiff.
And it is only in the last six months that he has started working part time in his role at Chris John & Partners, located in Pontcanna.
"I can't think that there are many people, if any, who can say they have been in business unbroken for 77 years," he said. "The thought of retiring never appealed to me because I love the business. At work I'm involved with all the different aspects of the business, from sales and lettings to valuations and rent reviews."
Now Saul has been bestowed with a lifetime achievement award from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in Wales, to mark his dedication to the job. He was recently presented with the award by Owain Llywelyn, Chair of RICS Wales.
