Berry Brisafe's Perimeter Edge System was chosen to protect cars and pedestrians visiting IKEA in Belfast.
The car park has spaces for 1,600 cars - 900 spaces in the three-storey structure and a further 700 open air parking spaces. The Berry Brisafe system for the multi-storey car park perimeter has a zero footprint in the parking bay.
The system consists of three lengths of wire rope anchored under tension to the car park structural columns, not the deck. These ropes are then fitted with in-fill panels which can be colour co-ordinated to almost any specification and also create an integrated anti-climb feature.
When a vehicle hits a Brisafe barrier, the three wires flex and absorb the impact forces, minimising damage to the vehicle and at the same time reducing the likelihood of injury to the occupants.
