Hamleys' Irish opening

Hamleys is to open its first Irish store at Dundrum, Dublin. And Bose and Gerry Weber have also signed up for stores.

Hamleys Dundrum is scheduled to open in October 2008 and will occupy 37,000 sq ft over three floors, acting as an anchor in the soon to be opened Pembroke Avenue located adjacent to Town Square. The new store will also offer a café and facilities which can be hired for private parties and events.

Paul Currie, Hamleys' trading director, said: "This is our first stand-alone store outside of Regent Street and continues our programme of global expansion. A considerable portion of our overseas customers are Irish and we are looking forward to growing this customer base."

The new Bose store will trade in 1,420 sq ft over ground and mezzanine floors and Gerry Weber will trade from a split-level store, with a 1,900-sq ft ground floor and a 900-sq ft mezzanine. The signings are the latest in a recent series of lettings successes for Dundrum. Joint letting agents for are Savills and Bannon. Churston Heard represented Hamley's.
