Dwell is to open its tenth UK store this Autumn with an 8,000 sq ft showroom at Cabot Circus, Bristol. The contemporary furniture and home accessories retailer is one of the latest latest signings at Glass Walk, the scheme’s focus for lifestyle shopping, alongside Starbucks, which has taken a 3,200-sq ft unit overlooking Broadmead, and Explore Learning, which has taken a 1,100 sq ft-unit. The three newcomers join Sony, and children’s toy retailer The Entertainer, which have already committed to the scheme.
Glass Walk is situated on the same level as the new restaurant terrace, the 3000-seat Cinema de Lux, and the main entrance from the scheme’s 2,600-space car park. Set to open in Autumn 2008, Cabot Circus is one of the highest profile mixed-use developments in the UK, and will provide high quality retail and leisure uses, residential apartments, offices and public spaces totalling 1.5 million sq ft in the heart of the city.
Keith Stone, the Bristol Alliance’s leasing director said: “Glass Walk has been designed to attract a cross section of lifestyle retailing concepts at affordable rents to widen the variety of the scheme’s overall tenant mix. Dwell is a key addition and will bring a real point of difference to the scheme introducing a showcase for its range of exclusive designs to shoppers in the south west for the first time. It will build on the homeware offer at House of Fraser ensuring that Cabot Circus becomes the principal focus for home styling shopping.”
Joint letting agents for Cabot Circus are DTZ and Lunson Mitchenall. Mann Smith represented Dwell.
