Las Iguanas |
Latin American restaurant Las Iguanas and Costa Coffee are the latest signings to the newly developed East Side Plaza at Gunwharf Quays, Land Securities’ £200m mixed-use development on the waterfront at Portsmouth Harbour.
Las Iguanas will occupy 4,072 sq ft at Units 108-111 on a 20-year lease at £45 per sq ft. Las Iguanas was chosen for the scheme following offers from seven quality restaurants and will be creating a 140-cover restaurant. It joins the scheme following the signing of Raymond Blanc’s Brasserie Blanc in the summer.
Costa Coffee strengthens Gunwharf’s café offering, joining Caffe Nero, Café Giardino, Café Rouge and Starbucks and has taken a 10-year lease on the 1,014-sq ft Unit 112 at £60 per sq ft.
The seven units which form part of East Side Plaza include 10,000 sq ft of flexible A1 and A3 space. East Side Plaza will be home to over 300 new residential units including a 30-storey tower.
Phil Cottingham, portfolio director at Land Securities said: “East Side Plaza is a strong addition to the Gunwharf Quays offer. Both Costa Coffee and Las Iguanas are great signings for the scheme and will join the other top name brands that enjoy solid trading figures.
Head Retail and twentyretail are joint letting agents for the scheme. Costa Coffee was advised by Briant Champion Long and Las Iguanas by Insight Retail.
