Daventry District Council has signed a development agreement with Henry Boot Developments for the phased development of two prominent sites in Daventry town centre. Henry Boot will now enter into detailed negotiations with West Northamptonshire Development Corporation prior to the submission of a planning application.
Phase one of the development will provide 75,000 sq ft of traditional high street retailing as well as a new library. Phase two will provide 90,000 sq ft of mostly large format retailing, 65,000 sq ft of office accommodation, plus hotel, bars, restaurants, a gym and residential accommodation.
Alan Jones, development surveyor at Henry Boot Developments, said: "This is an important regeneration project at the heart of the substantial growth being enjoyed by Daventry. It will contribute greatly towards providing a revitalised and diverse town centre and significantly benefit the local and surrounding communities."
